TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel topological mass generation mechanism for antisymmetric tensor matter fields that preserves U(1) symmetry by coupling with a complex vector field.
Contribution
It presents a new method for giving mass to tensor matter fields using topological coupling with a complex vector, maintaining gauge symmetry.
Findings
Mass generation mechanism preserves U(1) symmetry.
Influence of kinetic terms on the mass generation process analyzed.
Topological coupling effectively imparts mass to tensor fields.
Abstract
We propose a mechanism to give mass to tensor matter field which preserve the U(1) symmetry. We introduce a complex vector field that couples with the tensor in a topological term. We also analyze the influence of the kinetic terms of the complex vector in our mechanism.
