A remark on worldsheet fermions and double-scaled matrix models
Anton Kapustin

TL;DR
This paper offers a heuristic explanation for how worldsheet fermions arise in certain matrix models' continuum limits and discusses how Ramond-Ramond flux influences fermionic degrees of freedom.
Contribution
It introduces a heuristic perspective on the emergence of worldsheet fermions and the effect of Ramond-Ramond flux on fermionic degrees of freedom in matrix models.
Findings
Worldsheet fermions emerge in continuum limits of matrix models.
Ramond-Ramond flux confines fermionic degrees of freedom.
Heuristic explanation for fermion emergence in matrix models.
Abstract
We provide a heuristic explanation for the emergence of worldsheet fermions in the continuum limit of some matrix models. We also argue that turning on Ramond-Ramond flux confines the fermionic degrees of freedom of the Ramond-Neveu-Schwarz formalism.
