The Energy of Scattering Solitons in the Ward Model
T. Ioannidou, N. S. Manton

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that the energy density of scattering solitons in Ward's integrable chiral model matches that of static multi-lump solutions in the ext{CP}^3 sigma model, elucidating energy quantization.
Contribution
It reveals a direct correspondence between scattering soliton energy densities and static multi-lump solutions, explaining energy quantization in the Ward model.
Findings
Energy density of scattering solitons equals that of static multi-lump solutions.
Provides a geometric explanation for energy quantization.
Connects Ward model solitons with ext{CP}^3 sigma model solutions.
Abstract
The energy density of a scattering soliton solution in Ward's integrable chiral model is shown to be instantaneously the same as the energy density of a static multi-lump solution of the sigma model. This explains the quantization of the total energy in the Ward model.
