It provides a concise overview of the algebraic framework of topological strings and D-branes and proposes a novel direction for their generalization using subfactor theory.
Findings
Emphasizes the role of tensor categories and Frobenius algebras in topological string theory.
Suggests a new approach to generalize topological strings and D-branes through subfactor theory.
Highlights the algebraic structures underlying open and closed topological strings.
Abstract
In this talk we give a brief review of the algebraic structure behind the open and closed topological strings and -branes and emphasize the role of tensor category and the Frobenius algebra. Also, we speculate on the possibility of generalizing the topological strings and the -branes through the subfactor theory.
