Conformal symmetry of brane world effective actions
Paul L. McFadden, Neil Turok

TL;DR
This paper derives the low-energy effective action for brane worlds emphasizing conformal invariance and enhances it using the AdS/CFT correspondence for brane pairs with different tensions.
Contribution
It provides a straightforward derivation of the effective action and applies AdS/CFT to improve it for brane pairs with positive and negative tension.
Findings
Effective action derived with conformal invariance
Improved effective action using AdS/CFT correspondence
Applicable to brane pairs with different tensions
Abstract
A simple derivation of the low-energy effective action for brane worlds is given, highlighting the role of conformal invariance. We show how to improve the effective action for a positive- and negative-tension brane pair using the AdS/CFT correspondence.
