H. Ahmedov, I. H. Duru

TL;DR
This paper calculates the Casimir energy for a massless scalar field within conical geometries, employing group theory to derive Green functions, wave functions, and energy spectra.
Contribution
It introduces a method using group theory to derive Green functions and energy spectra for scalar fields in conical geometries.
Findings
Casimir energy computed for conical wedge and cavity.
Group theory effectively derives Green functions and wave functions.
Results contribute to understanding quantum fields in conical spaces.
Abstract
Casimir energy for a massless scalar field for a conical wedge and a conical cavity are calculated. The group generated by the images is employed in deriving the Green functions as well as the wave functions and the energy spectrum.
