Kamal L. Panigrahi

TL;DR
This paper investigates the real-time dynamics of D-branes near Dp-branes using the Dirac-Born-Infeld action, focusing on the radial mode as a tachyon analogue, analyzing potential, Hamiltonian structure, and classical solutions.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach to model tachyon-like behavior via the radial mode on D-branes within the Dirac-Born-Infeld framework, including classical solution analysis.
Findings
Analysis of tachyon potential behavior
Hamiltonian formulation of D-brane dynamics
Existence of homogeneous classical solutions
Abstract
By using Dirac-Born-Infeld action we study the real time dynamics of D-branes in the vicinity of a stack of Dp-branes where the role of the tachyon of the open string models is played by the radial mode on the D-branes. We examine the behaviour of the tachyon potential and study the hamiltonian formulation and classical solutions of such systems. We also study the homogeneous solutions of the classical equations of motion in these cases.
