SU(5) Gravitating Monopoles
Yves Brihaye, Theodora Ioannidou

TL;DR
This paper constructs spherically symmetric solutions in the SU(5) Einstein-Yang-Mills-Higgs system using harmonic map ansatz, simplifying the complex problem to ordinary differential equations.
Contribution
It introduces a method to find solutions in SU(5) gravitating monopoles by reducing the problem to manageable differential equations.
Findings
Explicit solutions for SU(5) monopoles are obtained.
The harmonic map ansatz effectively simplifies the Einstein-Yang-Mills-Higgs equations.
The approach provides a new way to analyze monopoles in higher gauge groups.
Abstract
Spherically symmetric solutions of the SU(5) Einstein-Yang-Mills-Higgs system are constructed using the harmonic map ansatz \cite{IS}. This way the problem reduces to solving a set of ordinary differential equations for the appropriate profile functions.
