Gilad Lifschytz

TL;DR
This paper models black hole thermalization using a brane-anti-brane framework, providing a field theory perspective on black hole entropy and deriving the annihilation rate of branes and anti-branes.
Contribution
It introduces a quasi-particle model for Schwarzschild and far-from-extremal black holes that reproduces their thermalization behavior from a brane-anti-brane perspective.
Findings
Thermalization equations match black hole behavior
Derived brane-anti-brane annihilation rate
Field theory explanation of entropy-area relationship
Abstract
We develop the quasi-particle picture for Schwarzchild and far from extremal black holes. We show that the thermalization equations of the black hole is recovered from the model of branes and anti-branes. This can also be viewed as a field theory explanation of the relationship between area and entropy for these black holes. As a by product the annihilation rate of branes and anti-branes is computed.
