TL;DR
This paper derives exact solutions in brane cosmology with matter both on the brane and in the bulk, revealing novel behaviors like bulk-driven expansion and mirage dust effects.
Contribution
It provides new exact solutions for Einstein equations in brane-world models with dynamic bulk and matter content, expanding understanding of brane cosmology.
Findings
Expansion driven solely by bulk matter
Appearance of mirage dust component on the brane
New exact solutions in brane-world cosmology
Abstract
We derive exact solutions of the Einstein equations in the context of the Randall-Sundrum model with matter on the brane and in the bulk. We present two models in which the brane moves within a time-dependent bulk. We study the cosmological evolution on the brane. Our solutions display novel behaviour, such as an expansion driven only by the bulk matter and the appearance of a ``mirage'' dust component on the brane.
