T.A. Ioannidou, A. Kouiroukidis, N.D. Vlachos

TL;DR
This paper analytically investigates Q-ball solutions in a sixth order potential, deriving initial conditions and explicitly calculating energy and charge, demonstrating the method's effectiveness across parameter ranges.
Contribution
It introduces an analytic approach to study Q-balls in sixth order potentials, providing explicit formulas for initial conditions, energy, and charge.
Findings
Analytic expressions for initial field values, energy, and charge of Q-balls.
The scheme works well across all allowed parameter values.
Provides a general method applicable to similar soliton solutions.
Abstract
The properties of Q-balls in the general case of a sixth order potential have been studied using analytic methods. In particular, for a given potential, the initial field value that leads to the soliton solution has been derived and the corresponding energy and charge have been explicitly evaluated. The proposed scheme is found to work reasonably well for all allowed values of the model parameters.
