Revisiting D-branes in $AdS_3 \times S^3$
Jason Kumar, Arvind Rajaraman

TL;DR
This paper explores supergravity solutions in an $AdS_3 imes S^3$ background with specific symmetries, concluding that no localized brane solutions exist, challenging prior boundary state assumptions.
Contribution
It provides the most general supergravity solutions with $AdS_2 imes S^2$ symmetry in $AdS_3 imes S^3$, showing the absence of localized branes.
Findings
No solutions with localized brane sources exist.
The solutions preserve half the supersymmetries.
Contradicts previous boundary state expectations.
Abstract
We find the most general supergravity solution in an background preserving an symmetry and half the supersymmetries. Contrary to previous expectations from boundary state arguments, it is shown that no solutions exist containing localized brane sources.
