TL;DR
This paper develops a framework for nonparallel brane worlds, deriving the effective action and analyzing the nonlinear radion, revealing its persistence in the second Randall-Sundrum model.
Contribution
It introduces a general gauge framework for nonparallel brane worlds and provides the effective action including the nonlinear radion dynamics.
Findings
Nonlinear radion persists in the second Randall-Sundrum model.
Effective action derived in the Einstein frame for Minkowski and (A)dS4 branes.
Framework applicable to various brane world configurations.
Abstract
We present a general framework for nonparallel brane worlds and use it to discuss the nonlinear radion problem. By imposing the Einstein frame as a gauge condition we are able to give the effective action for both Minkowski and (A)dS branes. In particular we find the nonlinear radion does not disappear in the second Randall-Sundrum model.
