Inhomogeneous chiral symmetry breaking in noncommutative four fermion interactions
Paolo Castorina, Giuseppe Riccobene, Dario Zappala'

TL;DR
This paper explores how noncommutative four-fermion interactions in a generalized Gross-Neveu model can lead to inhomogeneous chiral symmetry breaking, similar to the LOFF phase in condensed matter physics.
Contribution
It introduces a noncommutative extension of the Gross-Neveu model and demonstrates the possibility of inhomogeneous chiral symmetry breaking.
Findings
Chiral symmetry breaking occurs in an inhomogeneous background.
The model suggests parallels with LOFF phase phenomena.
Indications of inhomogeneous phases in noncommutative field theories.
Abstract
The generalization of the Gross-Neveu model for noncommutative 3+1 space-time has been analyzed. We find indications that the chiral symmetry breaking occurs for an inhomogeneous background as in the LOFF phase in condensed matter.
