Supersymmetry breaking by Wilson lines in AdS$_5$
Jonathan Bagger, Michele Redi

TL;DR
This paper explores how supersymmetry can be spontaneously broken in a five-dimensional anti-de Sitter space setup through Wilson lines, with the breaking linked to boundary conditions and tunings of brane tensions.
Contribution
It demonstrates that supersymmetry breaking in AdS$_5$ via Wilson lines is equivalent to Scherk-Schwarz boundary condition breaking, especially in the presence of detuned brane tensions.
Findings
Supersymmetry breaking occurs through non-trivial Wilson lines for the graviphoton.
Breaking vanishes when brane tensions are tuned.
The effect is equivalent to Scherk-Schwarz boundary conditions.
Abstract
In the Randall-Sundrum compactification of AdS with detuned brane tensions, supersymmetry can be spontaneously broken by a non-trivial Wilson line for the graviphoton. The supersymmetry breaking vanishes in the tuned limit. This effect is equivalent to supersymmetry breaking by Scherk-Schwarz boundary conditions.
