String Unification of Gauge Couplings with Intersecting D-branes
Ralph Blumenhagen

TL;DR
This paper explores how gauge couplings unify in supersymmetric intersecting D-brane models, analyzing the conditions under which string theory can naturally produce the Standard Model's gauge structure.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of stringy gauge coupling unification within a class of MSSM-like intersecting D-brane models, highlighting conditions for natural unification.
Findings
Gauge couplings can unify in certain intersecting D-brane models.
Conditions for natural gauge unification are identified.
Implications for string theory model building are discussed.
Abstract
After reviewing the general structure of supersymmetric intersecting brane world models, we discuss the issue of stringy gauge coupling unification for a natural class of MSSM-like models.
