Can string bits be supersymmetric?
Stefano Bellucci, Corneliu Sochichiu

TL;DR
This paper investigates the potential for supersymmetric string bits at finite discretization, finding that supersymmetry can be maintained except for a single defect mode that likely becomes irrelevant in the continuum limit.
Contribution
It introduces a general framework for analyzing supersymmetry in discretized string bits and identifies a single defect mode that breaks supersymmetry at finite discretization.
Findings
Supersymmetry can be preserved in string bits with a single defect mode.
The defect mode's effect diminishes in the continuum limit.
The approach provides insights into discretized supersymmetric models.
Abstract
We search for the possibility to have supersymmetric string bits at finite discretization . From a general setup we find that the string bits can be made supersymmetric modulo a single defect mode which is not expected to have any sensible effect in the continuum limit.
