TL;DR
This paper introduces new static solutions in SU(2) Yang-Mills-Higgs theory that depict chains of monopoles and antimonopoles in equilibrium, existing in both trivial and non-trivial topological sectors.
Contribution
It presents novel static axially symmetric solutions representing monopole-antimonopole chains, expanding the understanding of equilibrium configurations in gauge theories.
Findings
Existence of monopole-antimonopole chains in both topological sectors
Solutions are saddlepoints of the energy functional
New configurations in SU(2) Yang-Mills-Higgs theory
Abstract
We present new static axially symmetric solutions of SU(2) Yang-Mills-Higgs theory, representing chains of monopoles and antimonopoles in static equilibrium. They correspond to saddlepoints of the energy functional and exist both in the topologically trivial sector and in the sector with topological charge one.
