Ki-Young Choi (Seoul National University, Bonn University), Hyun, Min Lee (Bonn University)

TL;DR
This paper analyzes how supersymmetry breaking localized on branes affects the mass spectrum and wave functions of gauginos in a 5D orbifold model, revealing the softness of induced gaugino masses.
Contribution
It provides explicit calculations of gaugino mass spectra and wave functions for arbitrary brane masses in 5D orbifold models, highlighting the softness of supersymmetry breaking effects.
Findings
Gaugino masses at the distant brane are soft in the effective field theory.
Gaugino masses are extremely soft considering one-loop finite scalar masses.
The mass spectrum and wave functions depend on arbitrary brane mass parameters.
Abstract
We consider the brane-localized supersymmetry breaking in 5D compactified on . In case of a bulk gaugino with arbitrary brane masses for its even and odd modes, we find the mass spectrum and the wave functions of gaugino. We show that the gaugino masses at the distant brane are soft in the usual sense in the effective field theory with zero modes of bulk gauge fields and they are also extremely soft in view of the one-loop finite mass of a brane scalar in the KK regularization.
