Spacetime decay of cones at strong coupling
Ruth Gregory, Jeff Harvey

TL;DR
This paper investigates the decay process of conical spacetimes at strong coupling using dilaton gravity, providing insights into non-supersymmetric orbifold decay with localized tachyons in string theory.
Contribution
It introduces a novel analysis of conical spacetime decay at strong coupling through time-dependent solutions in dilaton gravity, linking to string theory orbifold decay.
Findings
Decay solutions describe spacetime evolution over time
Results suggest a decay mechanism for non-supersymmetric orbifolds
Insights into tachyon condensation at strong coupling
Abstract
We study time dependent solutions in dilaton gravity which correspond to the decay of conical spacetimes. In string theory this can be interpreted as a strong coupling limit of the decay of a non-supersymmetric orbifold spacetime with localized tachyons.
