Yi-Xin Chen, Jing Shao

TL;DR
This paper explores stable dielectric D2-brane configurations with electric and magnetic fields, revealing BIon structures with fuzzy $S^2$ geometry and their relation to D0-branes, highlighting their stability and geometric dependence.
Contribution
It introduces new stable BIon configurations with fuzzy $S^2$ structures and analyzes their geometric dependence on Born-Infeld fields, extending understanding of dielectric brane systems.
Findings
Identified stable BIon solutions with $S^2$ and cylindrical geometries.
Demonstrated the existence of fuzzy BIon objects in D0-brane systems.
Showed these configurations are more stable than spherical D2-branes.
Abstract
Some configurations of general dielectric D2-brane with both electric and magnetic fields are investigated. We find two classical stable solutions describing a BIon configuration with structure and a cylindrical tube respectively. Both of them can be regarded as the blown-up objects of the Born-Infeld string. The dependence of the geometry of these configurations on the Born-Infeld fields is analyzed. Also we find that similar BIon configuration exists as a fuzzy object in a system with N D0-branes. Furthermore this configuration is demonstrated to be more stable than the usual dielectric spherical D2-brane.
