Dilaton coupled brane-world and field trapping
Kazuo Ghoroku, Motoi Tachibana, Nobuhiro Uekusa

TL;DR
This paper explores brane-world models with a dilaton field in five dimensions, demonstrating that gravitons and gauge bosons can be localized on the brane across various cosmological constants, but the dilaton itself cannot.
Contribution
It introduces a dilaton in 5D brane-world models with cosmological constant and analyzes the localization of different fields, revealing new trapping conditions.
Findings
Gravitons can be trapped for both positive and negative cosmological constants.
Gauge bosons can be localized on the brane regardless of the sign of the cosmological constant.
Dilaton field cannot be localized on the brane.
Abstract
We address solutions of brane-world with cosmological constant by introducing the dilaton in 5d bulk, and we examine the localization of graviton, gauge bosons and dilaton. For those solutions, we find that both graviton and gauge bosons can be trapped for either sign, positive or negative, and wide range of due to the non-trivial dilaton. While the dilaton can not be trapped on the brane.
