Accelerating Cosmologies from S-Branes
Nobuyoshi Ohta

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that models of accelerated expansion in string/M-theory can be derived from S-branes, including cases with hyperbolic or flat internal spaces, expanding the scope of such cosmological solutions.
Contribution
It shows that accelerated cosmological models in string/M-theory are specific instances of S-brane solutions, broadening the types of internal spaces that can produce acceleration.
Findings
Accelerated expansion models are special cases of S-brane solutions.
Hyperbolic and flat internal spaces can also produce acceleration.
The framework unifies different accelerated cosmologies under S-branes.
Abstract
We point out that the recently proposed model of a flat 4-dimensional universe with accelerated expansion in string/M-theory is a special case of time-dependent solutions that the author found under the name of ``S-branes.'' We also show that similar accelerating models can be obtained from S-branes if the internal space is chosen to be hyperbolic or flat spaces.
