Low energy dynamics of self-dual A_1 strings
Andreas Gustavsson

TL;DR
This paper explores the connection between the six-dimensional (2,0) A_1 theory and the low-energy dynamics of self-dual BPS strings, proposing it as a 2D N=4 supersymmetric sigma model.
Contribution
It establishes that the low-energy theory for self-dual BPS strings in the A_1 (2,0) theory is a two-dimensional N=4 supersymmetric sigma model, clarifying their interrelation.
Findings
Identifies the low-energy dynamics as a 2D N=4 sigma model.
Links the six-dimensional (2,0) theory to string collective coordinates.
Provides a framework for understanding self-dual string dynamics.
Abstract
We examine the interrelation between the (2,0) supersymmetric six dimensional effective action for the A_1 theory, and the corresponding low-energy theory for the collective coordinates associated to supersymmetric selfdual BPS strings. We argue that this low-energy theory is a two-dimensional N = 4 supersymmetric sigma model.
