Classical stability of stringy wormholes in flat and AdS spaces
Jin Young Kim, Yoonbai Kim, James E. Hetrick

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the stability of stringy wormholes in flat and AdS spaces, showing they are unstable under symmetric perturbations in these settings, with implications for their physical viability.
Contribution
It demonstrates the instability of Euclidean stringy wormholes in flat space across dimensions and in AdS space specifically for three dimensions, under symmetric harmonic perturbations.
Findings
Wormholes are unstable in flat space regardless of dimension.
In AdS space with three dimensions, wormholes are also unstable.
Stability depends on the background geometry and symmetry of perturbations.
Abstract
We study small fluctuations of the stringy wormhole solutions of graviton-dilaton-axion system in arbitrary dimensions. We show under O()-symmetric harmonic perturbation that the Euclidean wormhole solutions are unstable in flat space irrespective of dimensions and in anti de Sitter space of .
