Enrique Alvarez, Juan Jose Manjarin

TL;DR
This paper computes the static potential between heavy sources in strongly coupled $ ext{N}=4$ Super Yang Mills theory using AdS/CFT by evaluating a rectangular Wilson loop at finite boundary distance.
Contribution
It provides a novel calculation of the static potential at strong coupling using holographic methods with a finite boundary cutoff.
Findings
Static potential obtained for $ ext{N}=4$ SYM at strong coupling.
Utilizes Wilson loop computation in AdS/CFT framework.
Introduces a finite cutoff in the holographic calculation.
Abstract
The static potential, corresponding to the interaction of two heavy sources is computed for Super Yang Mills in the strong 't Hooft coupling regime by using the AdS/CFT conjecture and performing a computation of a rectangular Wilson loop at a finite distance of the boundary.
