Affine Toda model coupled to matter and the string tension in QCD$_{2}$
Harold Blas

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates how the affine Toda model coupled to matter effectively describes the spectrum and string tension in two-dimensional QCD with different quark representations.
Contribution
It establishes a connection between the affine Toda model coupled to matter and the low-energy dynamics of QCD$_{2}$, including explicit calculations of string tension for various quark representations.
Findings
The model captures key features of QCD$_{2}$ spectrum.
Explicit string tension calculations for fundamental and adjoint quarks.
Provides a theoretical framework linking affine Toda models to QCD$_{2}$.
Abstract
The affine Toda model coupled to matter (ATM) is shown to describe various features, such as the spectrum and string tension, of the low-energy effective Lagrangian of QCD (one flavor and colors). The corresponding string tension is computed when the dynamical quarks are in the {\sl fundamental} representation of SU(N) and in the {\sl adjoint} representation of SU(2).
