Strings in the near plane wave background and AdS/CFT
Andrei Parnachev, Anton V. Ryzhov

TL;DR
This paper investigates the AdS/CFT correspondence by analyzing string states in a near plane wave background, comparing finite radius corrections to gauge theory scaling dimensions, and finding agreement between the two approaches.
Contribution
It provides a detailed comparison of string spectra and gauge theory operators in the Penrose limit, highlighting finite radius corrections and their consistency.
Findings
Finite radius corrections match between string theory and gauge theory.
Agreement observed in the scaling dimensions of BMN-like operators.
Supports the validity of the AdS/CFT correspondence in the near plane wave limit.
Abstract
We study the AdS/CFT correspondence for string states which flow into plane wave states in the Penrose limit. Leading finite radius corrections to the string spectrum are compared with scaling dimensions of finite R-charge BMN-like operators. We find agreement between string and gauge theory results.
