Brane-induced decay of the Kaluza-Klein vacuum
K.G. Selivanov, T.N. Tomaras

TL;DR
This paper investigates how the presence of branes affects the decay rate of the Kaluza-Klein vacuum, including both approximation methods and spontaneous brane formation.
Contribution
It introduces a detailed analysis of brane-induced decay mechanisms of the Kaluza-Klein vacuum, extending beyond the test brane approximation.
Findings
Brane presence enhances decay rate.
Spontaneous brane materialization occurs in the vacuum.
Decay mechanisms are characterized beyond simple approximations.
Abstract
The enhancement in the decay rate of the Kaluza-Klein vacuum due to the presence of a brane is studied, both in the test brane approximation and beyond it. Spontaneous brane materialization in the Kaluza-Klein vacuum is also described.
