Brane Probes, Toric Geometry, and Closed String Tachyons
Tapobrata Sarkar

TL;DR
This paper investigates non-supersymmetric orbifold singularities using D-brane probes, analyzing their decay processes through toric geometry to understand the underlying string theory dynamics.
Contribution
It provides a novel toric geometric framework to describe the decay of non-supersymmetric orbifold singularities via D-brane probes.
Findings
Toric geometry effectively captures decay processes of orbifold singularities.
D-brane probes reveal detailed decay pathways.
The approach enhances understanding of non-supersymmetric string backgrounds.
Abstract
We study non-supersymmetric orbifold singularities from the point of view of D-brane probes. We present a description of the decay of such singularities from considerations of the toric geometry of the probe branes.
