Amit Sever, Assaf Shomer

TL;DR
This paper derives a general formula for how multi-trace deformations affect boundary conditions of scalar fields in AdS space, challenging traditional constraints on fluctuations in the holographic duality framework.
Contribution
It provides a new, finite-cutoff formula for boundary condition changes in AdS due to multi-trace deformations, expanding understanding of holographic boundary dynamics.
Findings
Derived a general formula for boundary condition changes at finite cutoff
Showed fluctuations should not be constrained by boundary conditions
Implications for holographic duality and boundary dynamics
Abstract
We derive the general formula, at a finite cutoff, for the change in the boundary condition of a scalar field in AdS under a Multiple-trace deformation of the dual CFT. Our analysis suggests that fluctuations around the classical solution in AdS should not be constrained by boundary conditions.
