Jing-bo Chen, Han-Ying Guo, and Ke Wu

TL;DR
This paper introduces a discrete mechanics framework utilizing finite element methods, explores its connection to Veselov discrete mechanics, and develops high-order discretizations through advanced interpolation techniques.
Contribution
It presents a novel finite element-based discrete mechanics approach and establishes its relationship with Veselov discrete mechanics, including high-order discretization methods.
Findings
Established the connection between finite element discrete mechanics and Veselov mechanics.
Developed high-order discretization schemes using advanced interpolation.
Demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed methods in discrete mechanics modeling.
Abstract
Discrete Mechanics based on finite element methods is presented in this paper. We also explore the relationship between this discrete mechanics and Veselov discrete mechanics. High order discretizations are constructed in terms of high order interpolations.
