A Gravity Dual of the Chiral Anomaly
Igor R. Klebanov, Peter Ouyang, Edward Witten

TL;DR
This paper explores the holographic dual of the chiral anomaly in a cascading gauge theory, showing how the anomaly manifests as a classical feature in the supergravity solution and involves symmetry breaking via the Higgs mechanism.
Contribution
It provides a gravity dual description of the chiral anomaly and details the symmetry breaking process in the supergravity framework.
Findings
The anomaly appears as a classical feature in the supergravity solution.
The U(1) R-symmetry breaks down to Z_{2M} via the Higgs mechanism.
The study links gauge theory anomalies to geometric features in gravity duals.
Abstract
We study effects associated with the chiral anomaly for a cascading gauge theory using gauge/gravity duality. In the gravity dual the anomaly is a classical feature of the supergravity solution, and the breaking of the U(1) R-symmetry down to proceeds via the Higgs mechanism.
