TL;DR
This paper calculates the entropy of bosonic open string states with various boundary conditions, including those describing massless fields on Dp-branes, providing insights into string thermodynamics.
Contribution
It introduces a detailed computation of string entropy for different boundary conditions and specific massless states on Dp-branes, expanding understanding of string thermodynamics.
Findings
Entropy expressions for open strings with mixed boundary conditions.
Entropy of massless Dp-brane world-volume states.
Insights into thermodynamic properties of string configurations.
Abstract
The entropy of the states associated to the solutions of the equations of motion of the bosonic open string with combinations of Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions is given. Also, the entropy of the string in the states and that describe the massless fields on the world-volume of the Dp-brane is computed.
