Velocity-Dependent Forces and an Accelerating Universe
Ramzi R. Khuri, Andriy Pokotilov

TL;DR
This paper explores how velocity-dependent forces between strings can lead to an expanding universe, providing exact solutions for string and brane cosmological models to understand this phenomenon.
Contribution
It extends previous work by deriving exact solutions for various string and brane models demonstrating velocity-dependent forces induce cosmic acceleration.
Findings
Velocity-dependent forces can cause universe expansion.
Exact solutions for string/brane cosmologies are obtained.
Models suggest a link between string interactions and cosmic acceleration.
Abstract
In recent work, it was shown that velocity-dependent forces between parallel fundamental strings moving apart in a D-dimensional spacetime implied an expanding universe in D-1-dimensional spacetime. Here we expand on this work to obtain exact solutions for various string/brane cosmological toy models.
