Seiberg-Witten maps in the context of the antifield formalism
G. Barnich, F. Brandt, M. Grigoriev

TL;DR
This paper reviews how Seiberg-Witten maps can be understood as consistent deformations within the antifield formalism, providing insights into noncommutative gauge theories and their structure.
Contribution
It introduces a novel perspective on Seiberg-Witten maps using the antifield formalism, connecting gauge theory deformations with noncommutative geometry.
Findings
Seiberg-Witten maps are interpreted as consistent gauge theory deformations.
Insights into noncommutative Yang-Mills theory are provided.
The antifield formalism offers a systematic approach to these maps.
Abstract
The formulation of Seiberg-Witten maps from the point of view of consistent deformations of gauge theories in the context of the Batalin-Vilkovisky antifield formalism is reviewed. Some additional remarks on noncommutative Yang-Mills theory are made.
