Stability and fluctuation modes of giant gravitons with NSNS B field
Jin Young Kim

TL;DR
This paper investigates the stability of giant gravitons in string theory backgrounds with NSNS B fields, analyzing perturbations of probe D-branes and identifying stability conditions across different dimensions.
Contribution
It provides a detailed stability analysis of giant gravitons with NSNS B fields, including explicit mode frequencies and stability ranges for various brane sizes and dimensions.
Findings
Giant gravitons with p=5 are stable regardless of size.
For p≠5, stability depends on the brane size, with specific stable ranges identified.
Explicit mode frequencies are calculated for certain cases.
Abstract
We study the stability of the giant gravitons in the string theory background with NSNS B field. We consider the perturbation of giant gravitons formed by a probe D brane in the background generated by D-D branes for . We use the quadratic approximation to the brane action to find the equations of motion. For , giant graviton configurations are stable independent of the size of the brane. For , we calculated the range of the size of the brane where they are stable. We also present the mode frequencies explicitly for some special cases.
