A Brief Comment on "The Pyrotechnic Universe"
Justin Khoury, Burt A. Ovrut, Paul J. Steinhardt, Neil Turok

TL;DR
This paper defends the ekpyrotic universe model against criticisms, arguing it remains a viable alternative to inflationary cosmology for explaining the early universe.
Contribution
It provides a rebuttal to critiques of the ekpyrotic model, clarifying its potential as an early universe scenario.
Findings
Identifies errors in criticisms of the ekpyrotic model
Reaffirms the viability of the ekpyrotic universe as an alternative to inflation
Highlights the need for further evaluation of early universe models
Abstract
We respond to the criticisms by Kallosh, Kofman and Linde concerning our proposal of the ekpyrotic universe scenario. We point out a number of errors in their considerations and argue that, at this stage, the ekpyrotic model is a possible alternative to inflationary cosmology as a description of the very early universe.
