Oriol Pujolas

TL;DR
This paper reviews radion stabilization in the Randall-Sundrum brane-world model using Casimir energy from a bulk field, and presents exact solutions considering backreaction effects on the geometry.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive review and new exact solutions for radion stabilization including backreaction effects in brane-world scenarios.
Findings
Casimir energy can stabilize the radion in Randall-Sundrum models.
Exact self-consistent solutions with backreaction are derived.
The impact of bulk conformally coupled fields on brane geometry is characterized.
Abstract
We review the stabilization of the radion in the Randall-Sundrum model through the Casimir energy due to a bulk conformally coupled field. We also show some exact self-consistent solutions taking into account the backreaction that this energy induces on the geometry.
