Tachyon Condensation and Spectrum of Strings on D-branes
Takao Suyama

TL;DR
This paper studies how tachyon condensation affects the spectrum of open strings on D-branes in bosonic string theory, revealing changes in boundary conditions through 1-loop partition function analysis.
Contribution
It provides a detailed calculation of the 1-loop partition function showing the transition of boundary conditions post-tachyon condensation.
Findings
Partition functions match different boundary conditions after condensation.
Tachyon condensation alters open string spectra.
The analysis clarifies the role of boundary conditions in string spectra.
Abstract
We investigate spectrum of open strings on D-branes after tachyon condensation in bosonic string theory. We calculate 1-loop partition function of the string and show that its limiting forms coincide with partition functions of open strings with different boundary conditions.
