BPS Bound States of D6-branes and Lower Dimensional D-branes
Matsuo Sato

TL;DR
This paper constructs specific BPS bound state solutions in super Yang-Mills theory that represent stable configurations of D-branes, showing how unstable brane systems decay into these bound states with lower-dimensional branes dissolved in D6-branes.
Contribution
It provides explicit BPS solutions in 6+1 dimensional super Yang-Mills theory representing bound states of various D-branes, elucidating decay processes of unstable brane systems.
Findings
Constructed 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2 BPS solutions with diagonal fluxes.
Demonstrated decay of unstable D-brane systems into BPS bound states.
Showed lower-dimensional D-branes dissolve in D6-branes in these solutions.
Abstract
We construct 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2 BPS solutions spanned by diagonal elements of U(N) constant fluxes in the 6+1 dimensional U(N) super Yang-Mills theory on T^6 with topological stability. These solutions represent BPS bound states of D0, D2, D4, and D6 branes. The consistency with the D-brane charge conservation implies that unstable D0-D2-D6-brane systems in a B field decay to the BPS solutions, in which lower dimensional D-branes are dissolved in D6-branes.
