Spontaneous orbifold symmetry breaking and generation of mass hierarchy
Israel Quiros

TL;DR
The paper proposes a simple mechanism within the Randall-Sundrum model that stabilizes orbifold geometry and explains the hierarchy between the Planck and electroweak scales through spontaneous symmetry breaking.
Contribution
It introduces a novel, straightforward approach to stabilize orbifold geometry and generate the electroweak scale from the Planck scale.
Findings
Orbifold symmetry can be spontaneously broken to stabilize geometry.
The mechanism naturally produces the electroweak-Planck scale hierarchy.
The approach offers a new perspective on hierarchy problem solutions.
Abstract
A very simple mechanism is proposed that stabilizes the orbifold geometry within the context of the Randall-Sundrum proposal for solving the hierarchy problem. The electroweak TeV scale is generated from the Planck scale by spontaneous breaking of the orbifold symmetry
