A Note About Localized Photons on the Brane
Adel Khoudeir

TL;DR
This paper investigates the localization of photons in a five-dimensional model with a brane, concluding that massive photons cannot be confined to the brane using the Randall-Sundrum mechanism.
Contribution
It provides a first order formulation for Maxwell fields in five dimensions and analyzes photon localization, revealing limitations of the Randall-Sundrum mechanism.
Findings
Massive photons cannot be localized on the brane.
First order formulation aids in analyzing higher-dimensional gauge fields.
Abstract
A first order formulation for the Maxwell field in five dimensions is dimensionally reduced using the Randall-Sundrum mechanism. We will see that massive photons can not be localized on the brane.
