Another Alternative to Compactification: Noncommutative Geometry and Randall-Sundrum Models
Fedele Lizzi, Gianpiero Mangano, Gennaro Miele

TL;DR
This paper explores how noncommutative geometry-inspired Yang-Mills plus gravity theories can replicate key features of Randall-Sundrum models, offering an alternative approach to addressing the hierarchy problem.
Contribution
It demonstrates that the main feature of Randall-Sundrum models appears naturally in noncommutative geometry-inspired theories, revealing a novel connection between these frameworks.
Findings
Identifies the same Higgs potential expression in both models
Shows the main feature of Randall-Sundrum models is present in noncommutative geometry theories
Suggests possible relationships between different theoretical approaches
Abstract
We observe that the main feature of the Randall-Sundrum model, used to solve the hierarchy problem, is already present in a class of Yang-Mills plus gravity theories inspired by noncommutative geometry. Strikingly the same expression for the Higgs potential is found in two models which have no apparent connection. Some speculations concerning the possible relationships are given.
