Bosonic sector of D=11 superstring action and the critical dimension. Toy model
A.A. Deriglazov

TL;DR
This paper investigates a bosonic model inspired by D=11 superstring theory, demonstrating that anomaly-free light-cone quantization is achievable in a 27-dimensional spacetime, which differs from the critical dimension.
Contribution
It introduces a new bosonic model inspired by D=11 superstring action and identifies the critical dimension for anomaly-free quantization as D=27.
Findings
Anomaly terms vanish in the algebra of light-cone Poincare generators at D=27
A suitable set of variables enables light-cone quantization of the model
The model provides insights into the dimensionality requirements for consistent superstring-like theories
Abstract
Bosonic model inspired by D=11 superstring action is investigated. An appropriate set of variables is find, in which the light-cone quantization turns out to be possible. It is shown that anomaly terms in the algebra of the light-cone Poincare generators are absent for the case D=27.
