The M2-brane Soliton on the M5-brane with Constant 3-Form
Yoji Michishita (Kyoto Univ.)

TL;DR
This paper constructs a BPS soliton solution on the M5-brane worldvolume representing M2-branes ending on it, and shows its consistency with known D-brane results through dimensional reduction.
Contribution
It presents a new BPS soliton solution on the M5-brane with a constant 3-form, linking M2-brane configurations to D-brane results via dimensional reduction.
Findings
Derived a BPS soliton solution on the M5-brane
Confirmed the solution's consistency with D-brane results
Established a link between M2-branes and D-branes through reduction
Abstract
We obtain a BPS soliton of the effective theory of the M5-brane worldvolume with constant 3-form representing M2-branes ending on the M5-brane. The dimensional reduction of this solution agrees with the known results on D-branes.
