M. Caldarelli, L. Vanzo, S. Zerbini

TL;DR
This paper investigates the extremal limit of D-dimensional black holes, demonstrating a well-defined procedure that results in new solutions characterized by AdS2 times symmetric spaces.
Contribution
It introduces a novel extremal limiting process for D-dimensional black holes, leading to new solutions involving AdS2 and symmetric spaces.
Findings
Existence of a well-defined extremal limit for static D-dimensional black holes
Derivation of new solutions with AdS2 times symmetric spaces
Insights into the geometric structure of extremal black hole limits
Abstract
The extreme limit of a class of D-dimensional black holes is revisited. In the static limit, it is shown that well defined extremal limiting procedure exists and it leads to new solutions of the type AdS2 times constant curvature symmetric spaces.
