On generalizations of Verlinde's formula
P. Bantay

TL;DR
This paper extends Verlinde's formula to include traces of finite order mapping classes, providing new trace identities for modular matrices through 3D topological arguments.
Contribution
It introduces generalized Verlinde-like formulas for finite order mapping class traces using 3D topological methods.
Findings
Trace formulas for finite order mapping classes derived
New identities for modular matrix elements presented
Extension of Verlinde's formula demonstrated
Abstract
It is shown that traces of mapping classes of finite order may be expressed by Verlinde-like formulae. The 3D topological argument is explained, and the resulting trace identities for modular matrix elements are presented.
