Teruhiko Kawano, Seiji Terashima (Tokyo U)

TL;DR
This paper derives the S-duality of noncommutative open string theory from OM-theory compactifications, revealing dualities as geometric exchanges on tori, and discusses related T-duality aspects.
Contribution
It provides a heuristic derivation of S-duality in noncommutative theories from OM-theory compactifications, linking dualities to geometric transformations.
Findings
S-duality corresponds to exchanging circles in a torus.
Identifies S-duality between noncommutative open string theory and noncommutative Yang-Mills in 4D.
Brief discussion on T-duality between noncommutative theories.
Abstract
We study the compactification of OM-theory on tori and show a simple heuristic derivation of the -duals of noncommutative open string theory in diverse dimensions from the OM-theoretical point of view. In particular, we identify the -duality between noncommutative open string theory and noncommutative Yang-Mills theory in dimensions as the exchange of two circles of a torus on which OM-theory is compactified. Also, we briefly discuss -duality between noncommutative open string theories.
