Note on the dual BRST Symmetry in U(1) Gauge Theory
Patricio Gaete

TL;DR
This paper investigates a specific dual BRST symmetry in 2D U(1) gauge theory, showing it can be derived via a canonical transformation in the ghost sector, independent of gauge choice.
Contribution
It demonstrates that the dual BRST symmetry can be obtained from a canonical transformation, providing a gauge-independent derivation and clarifying its relation to the Lagrangian and Hamiltonian formalisms.
Findings
Dual BRST symmetry is obtainable through a canonical transformation.
The symmetry relation is gauge independent.
The analysis clarifies the connection between Lagrangian and Hamiltonian generators.
Abstract
We analyze the relation between the Lagrangian and Hamiltonian BRST symmetry generators for a recently proposed two-dimensional symmetry. In particular it is shown that this symmetry may be obtained from a canonical transformation in the ghost sector in a gauge independent way.
